Parents/Carers and Hillcrest School
An invitation is extended to parents/carers of pupils in their last year at our local primary schools to visit Hillcrest during the autumn term. A "New Parents’ Evening" is held each summer term for the parents or carers of pupils who will be joining the school in the following September. At this meeting there is an opportunity to meet Heads of Year and the Leadership Team.
New pupils also visit the school in June during a normal school day. Senior staff visit primary schools to talk to staff, pupils and parents or carers.
We are always keen to see parents/carers about any aspect of a pupil’s education. It is vital that appointments are made to ensure that you see the appropriate person. When contacting the school, parents/carers should give the name of their child’s form tutor.
Reports and Progress Evenings
Formal reports to parent or carers will be issued at three key points in the academic year. A list of these report dates will be published on our school website. If, on any occasion, a report is not received, parents/carers should inform the Head of Year immediately.
One progress evening is arranged for each year group during the school year. Parents/carers will receive a letter of invitation and have the opportunity to make an appointment with their child’s form tutor or classroom teacher.
It is expected that all parents or carers will attend progress evenings.
